In class we had 6 mystery substances.  We used physical properties to figure out if the substances were powders and crystals.  We also found out that vinegar is an indicator for baking soda and iodine is an indicator for starch.  We learned about using the pH scale to find out if our substances were acids [...]

We practiced observing in class and saw some fun reactions.  After we learn more in the unit we will determine why the reactions took place.
